Upward information
Upward Sports, the world’s largest Christian sports program for children, was created with a vision to provide the best sports experience possible for every child. Each year some one million people around the world play, coach, referee or volunteer in Upward Sports Leagues and Camps hosted by more than 2,400 churches. These churches have taken Upward Sports Programs to 67 countries on mission trips. Anyone – children and volunteers of any faith or no faith – can participate in Upward Sports. Specifically designed for children in K5- sixth grade, Upward Sports aims to bring out “the winner” in every child – regardless of the game’s score.
Here at First Baptist Church of Moore we offer basketball, soccer, football, and cheerleading. Any child that is in K-5 up to 6th grade is able to play. Each season consists of one evaluation, 9 practices, 8 games, and one celebration at the end of the season. A player is not fully enrolled in the Upward program until he or she has completed an evaluation and payment is received. All participants will receive a full uniform specific to the sport they are playing, along with necessary accessories. Every player will also receive a special award at the celebration that takes place at the end of the season.
UPWARD FAQS
What does each season involve?
Each season of Upward Sports consists of one week of evaluations (every player must attend an evaluation), nine weeks of practices, eight league games, and an end-of season celebration.
How do I sign up?
Who can participate?
Boys and Girls Kindergarten – 6th grade
What if I order the wrong size uniform?
If the uniform you ordered does not fit, let the Recreation Center know. Parents will be assessed a $10.00 charge to have a uniform replaced due to incorrect sizing. Please try on the sample uniforms at evaluation to insure your child will have the right size.
Do you offer any scholarships or discounts?
FBC Moore offers a limited amount of scholarships and discounts. In order to keep scholarships fair, they are offered on a need basis. Those parents willing to assist with coaching/refereeing will receive first consideration. In order to assist as many families as possible we can only offer limited discounts to families with multiple children enrolled.
How many practices and games per week?
All teams will practice once per week and have one game a week. (Unless make-up games are necessary)
What is the celebration?
At our celebration we bring all teams and families together to celebrate the season, recognize our players and volunteers and present the player awards.
